Grant believes that a house should not be just a house, but must be a home.
Every
person is unique and this should be reflected in the personal touches
that makes your home different to everyone else's.
Like people, no two locations are the same and Grant prides himself on
bringing the best of each site to accentuate the final design.
Grant knows it is important that the factors like site environment and
client budget restraints are important and that the final design should
meet the clients expectations rather than those of the designer.
Grant is a NZCE qualified engineer and has over 20 years of engineering and project management to back up his design skills
Grant Lives in the sunny North with his wife Janine and thier three
teenages. The Smith family lives & works on a small rural block
just north of Whangarei with thier dog, two cats, two cows, 6 chickens
& thier 1 guinea pig. Grant is a nortoius home handy man, who
luckily has a very tolerent and understanding wife. When not working
or pulling his house to pieces or playing with his children, Grant
enjoys relaxing with friends and family in a relaxed outdoor setting.

PLANS4U is a member of the Licensed Building Practitioner scheme.
We are licensed to design level 2 (Always check that your designer is on the LBP Register).
(this allows us to design complex houses to withstand the conditions of New Zealand's harsher locations).
We are conversant with NZS3604 (Timber Frame Buildings), NZS4229 (Masonry Construction).
We also design structures that fall outside of the scope of standard building design including the use of alternative materials
